The second is titled "Suzanne in the Cotton Patch" and on the back is written #648. Both have been painted in New Orleans and are signed on the front bottom right. Almarie Pittman Little was a famous folk artist for about 35 years of her career (considered Black Heritage art) who loved to paint many hours of the day. She tended to enjoy recreating southern swamp scenes, NOLA courtyard scenes, magnolias, antique five and dime stores, riverboats, baptisms, weddings, and plantation scenes. Her most common medium was a canvas of course, but she also painted many cameos, thimbles, saws, and wooden purses. She had a unique technique of building up her characters with a 3D quality to help bring them to life.Overall size: 8 1/2 x 7 1/2 in. Sight size: 4 1/2 x 3 1/2 in.
