1st-55th items: 55 pieces assorted sterling silver flatware by various makers, including 13 International pieces, including 12 five o'clock teaspoons and 1 luncheon/dessert fork; 12 A & J Plaut teaspoons; 10 Duhme and Company pieces, including 3 tablespoons, 6 oval soup/place spoons, and 1 teaspoon; 3 Gorham pieces, including 1 long handle pickle/olive fork, 1 teaspoon, and 1 demitasse spoon; 3 Paye and Baker pieces, including 2 Danville, KY souvenir spoons and 1 demitasse spoon; 2 Wendell teaspoons; 2 Alvin pieces, including 1 lemon fork and 1 teaspoon; 2 Towle pieces, including 1 strawberry fork and 1 lemon fork; 2 Mechanics pieces, including 1 lemon fork and 1 demitasse spoon; 1 Wallace egg spoon; 1 Saart Brothers Adairville, KY souvenir teaspoon, 1 Durgin fruit spoon; 1 Dominick and Haff teaspoon; 1 Reed and Barton demitasse spoon; and 1 demitasse spoon by an unknown maker. All marked Sterling. Ranging in size from 3 1/2" to 8" L. 56th-67th items: 12 pieces coin silver flatware by Northern and Southern makers, including 5 tablespoons and 2 teaspoons, 7 items total, marked for Wood and Hughes (working New York, NY, 1845-1899); 2 teaspoons marked for James McClure and Philip Valenti (Bowling Green, KY, ca. 1867-1870); 1 oval soup/place spoon marked for William Kirkham, Jr. (working Springfield, MA, 1855-1865, Burlington, VT, 1865-1866; and Springfield, MA, 1866-1871); and 2 teaspoons, unmarked. Ranging in size from 5 3/4" to 8 5/8" L. Some pieces with various monograms and inscriptions. Sterling weight: 38.890 total troy ounces; coin silver weight: 11.615 total troy ounces.

Descended through the family of Katherine "Kate" Aylett White Miller Shreve Mason (1820/22-1885), of Greensburg, KY. A Civil War letter archive and silver forks from this family are also being offered in this auction, lots #86 and #653 (Day 1).
Condition
Light surface wear. Scattered dents, bends, primairly to bowls of coin silver items.
