Description
Collection of five Japanese woodblock prints (ukiyo-e).Three prints by well-known artist Utagawa Kunisada II (Japanese, 1823 - 1880). All are from Kunisada II's "Fifty-Four Chapters of the False Genji" ("Nise Genji gojuyo jo"), 1865. Prints are "Chapter 21, Otome", "Chapter 52, Kagero" and "Chapter 54, Ume no ukihashi". All have good bright colors with minor yellowing, pressed decorations into the paper. 12 1/2" tall by 8 3/4" wide (matted), 17" tall by 13" wide (framed).Two additional Japanese woodblock prints of fashionable ladies, ca. 19th century.
