Description
Lot containing two important historical New Left 1960s counter culture posters: Black Panther Party 1968 poster promoting rally and general strike calling for release of BPP cofounder Bobby Seale following his arrest at the 1968 Democratic Convention protests. Text reading "Bobby Seale Kidnapped / It's time to intensify the struggle / STRIKE! NO WORK NO SCHOOL WED. SEPT 24". Lot also contains Mayday Tribe poster promoting the historically significant 1971 Anti-Vietnam War Washington D.C. Protests, in which 12,000 protestors were arrested. Poster reads "VOLUNTEERS OF AMERICA / THE WAR ENDS IN MAY! / WASHINGTON D.C. MAY 1". Mayday Tribe 17.5"x22.5" and 16"x21" respectively. Minor creasing, discoloration, and tears.
