Description

This cool piece was created in 1883 by 12 year old Sarah J. Thomas. Young Sarah hand stitched this family tree beginning with her father Richard, b. 1828 and mother Eleanor, b. 1834. They had 12 children: John, b 1856; Richard, b. 1859; Elizabeth, b. 1861 (?), Mary, b. 1862; Thomas, b. 1864; Edward, b. 1867; Margaret, b. 1869; Sarah, b. 1871; Hannah, b. 1874; David, b. 1876; William, b. 1877. Below all of this large family is a quite large home and Sarah finished by signing with her initials and year of completion. It's in a wonderful Adirondack style frame and measures 21" x 29" and is backed by what appears to be a crate lid for Lump Sugar.
