Edmund Blampied (British, 1886-1966), “Les Deux petits verres (Two Little Glasses)”, 1928, drypoint, depicts a cafe scene with older waiter standing with tray serving an older portly couple (the artist and his wife), most probably in a café in St. Helier, principle city of their native Jersey, their small dog in left hand corner, Appleby 135, only state, Ref: Fine Prints of the Year, Vol 7, 1929; Baily (1937), p. 374. Ed: 100, signed with pencil lower left, inscribed with pencil “29/100” lower right, printed by the artist with black ink on light cream laid paper with margins as issued, unframed, hinged to mat under clear cover, very light wear consistent with age including minor even toning and slight mat burn, a few small spots of foxing, paper size: 14 1/2" h. x 12 1/2" w.
