Jean Charlot Drawing Of Fiji Clubs 1850 from a book plate titled Fijian War Clubs singed with notation lower left; Jean Charlot (1898 - 1979). Presented in a koa wood frame with gold trim.
Provenance: Museum Macabre Hawaii.
Arne Coward (1920 - 1979) operated the Museum Macabre in Honolulu Hawaii from 1960 to his death in 1979. In addition to housing the largest private collection of authentic torture equipment it was well known as a source for fine oceanic art oddities and antiquities. During this time Coward became good friends with the painter Jean Charlot.
Measures: 11 3/4" x 9" sight, 23" x 19" overall
