Description

Letter from Jefferson Davis (President of the Confederate States of America, 1861-1865 and United States Secretary of War, 1853 -1857) to Colonel H.K. Craig, Chief of Ordinance dated 15 November 1853. This letter includes a Certificate of Authenticity by PSA/DNA (S02927). The text of the letter appears to read ?Col. Craig, Chief of Ordinance. Sir, Please inform me of the action taken in relations to the Maynard Invoices, and what progress has been made in its application to the ? , with any suggestions you may have to make. Very Respectfully yours, Jefferson Davis War Dept. 15 November 1853.? The document measures 6.25 by 7.8 inches and has a 0.8 inch embossed stamp in the upper left corner with Paris, and H. B. The document has 4 tears, none through the body of the document, foxing, and some discoloration from being framed. Overall the document is in very good condition.
