Description
VIRGINIA ATTRIBUTED DECORATED STONEWARE JARS, LOT OF TWO, salt-glazed, each bearing a "2" gallon capacity mark and of cylindrical form with collar below the squared rim, one with slight shoulder, each with brown-slip glazed interior. Each with brushed cobalt decoration, one with lollipop decoration repeated five times below rim, other with dropped feather repeated three times off rim. Lollipop example probably E. J. Miller, Alexandria; other example probably Keesee & Parr, Richmond. Circa 1865. 11 5/8" and 12 3/8" H.
