Description
A Pennsylvania paint decorated blanket chest, Northampton or Lehigh County, circa 1790-1810, the strap hinged rectangular top with applied molded edge enclosing a dovetail-constructed box with a left covered till, raised on bracket feet, painted blue with two trefoils in white decorated with stylized tulip blossoms to the front. Condition
Heavy wear to the the decorated surface overall. Most of the chest's decoration to the hinged lid is gone. The bracket feet have later added casters. Iron hardware appears to be original. With key.
