MARVIN ISRAEL (1924- 1984)~ Surreal/ Imagery Painting. Original painting by Harper's Bazaar Magazine, where he worked as Art Director and featured Richard Avedon, Diane Arbus, Robert Frank, Lee Friedlander, Larry Rivers, Andy Warhol and others. Marvin spent two years in Paris studying and painting and in 1952 he had his first one-man show. Israel created sinister shadowy and exuberant interiors with implications of violence that were often sexual in nature. Cordier & Ekstrom Gallery label on back, along with a label from the MN Museum Art. Measures approx. 30" Long X 22 1/2" Wide.
