Two editions of Boulton's investigative work, which seems primarily to deal with drawings made by the camera obscura, preceded by a preliminary essay published the preceding year. There seems to have been another 1864 edition, with 55 pagers and three plates instead of four. Of the two editions listed here, two of the plates are the same, and two differ. The text block of the 1865 edition is slightly larger, and the signatures unopened.
