DIAL, Thornton (American, 1928-2016). “Remembering the Road” from the Cultural Olympiad. 1996. Lithograph on paper. 24 x 30”. One of 200 copies (#98) signed by Dial on the lower right corner. Some minor occasional rubbing, light surface dirt. An excellent example. Although Dial had been called an Outsider Artist or a folk artist, his work defies categorization. His work has been compared to that of Jackson Pollack, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Robert Rauschenberg. His art has been featured at galleries and art museums throughout the United States.
