Temple Emanu-El, the interior of former location of at 5th Ave and 43rd Street in New York, by Curt Szekessy
Etching dated in the plate at the lower center.
Stated artist proof, signed, titled, and inscribed in pencil: My Special Proof – Temple E Manuel to Mrs. Valerie Langeloth, with best wishes from the Artist. New York, February 1929.
Sight: 19 x 13.5, Frame: 29 x 24 inches.
Mrs. Valeria Knapp Langeloth, was a widow of an industrialist and philanthropist Jacob Langeloth, founder and president of American Metals Co., the American Zinc Co., VP and Director on the Balbach Smelting Co., Metallurgical Co. of America, Miami Cooper Co., General Developing Co., Mexican Bank of Commerce and Industry. From 1924, Valeria Langeloth was a president of the Valeria Home at Croton-on-Hudson, an all-year vacation and recreation club for working women and men.
Curt Szekessy exhibited with the Brooklyn Society of Etchers in 1918-1931, and with the Print Makers Society of California in 1921. The Index of American Print Exhibitions 1882-1940, lists nine prints by this artist.
