A Maya mold-made, rectangular shaped throne effigy with a seated figure wearing an elaborate headdress. A feline is sprawled at the feet of the figure and the vertical sides of the sculpture are serrated. Buff ceramic with orange, red, and white pigment. Late Classic, 600 CE to 900 CE. Jaina Island, Campeche. 8 1/2" x 5 1/8".Condition: Good, with proper right back of sculpture broken and repaired.Provenance: From the Boeckman Collection. Dallas, Texas. Acquired 3/16/1984. From the collection of Peter Wray. Scottsdale, Arizona.
