Antique Japanese Shunga Makimono Long Hand Scroll, Early 20th C. Comic narrative follows men (including monks) chasing women, in a kind of competition of the sexes, after which the men are completely exhausted and the women, painted like Otofuku, the Japanese goddess of mirth and fertility, are full of vigor, one receiving a prize on a piece of paper on a Shinto vessel. Provenance and COA: Zakurai + Ziguzagu, Prahan Victoria, Australia. Provenance: Ex collection of Dr. Horacio Fabrega, Pittsburgh, PA. Size: 1'3'' x 24'9'' (38 x 754 cm).
