[CIVIL WAR]. Confederate pike identified as having been taken at Tilton, Georgia.
59 in. ln. pike, including 13 in. blade with inscribed label that reads, "Rebel Pike Taken at Tilton Georgia" (wear consistent with use, oxidation to blade). Provenance: Acquired from GAR museum (consignor's note).
The Battle of Tilton, GA, took place on 13 May 1864, just north of Resaca, GA.
