Description
1769 Albertus Magnus Health Secrets WINE Cooking Farming Medicine Agronomy
In 1760, Pons Augustin Alletz published one the best and most popular manuals on country life. The Agronomist, or lAlbert Moderne, was a highly desirable book of advice on gardening, animal breeding, veterinary medicine, hunting, and cooking recipes. The most important, and most oft-read section was that on wine and wine making. This section also tells of the health benefits of wine as well as the healing properties and aromatics and vinegar.
The title of this edition suggests the influence of Albert, or Albertus Magnus, a medieval friar who became well-known for his writings of secrets of the world on alchemy, astronomy, physiology, theology, and much, much more. Alletz sought to gain prominence by featuring the name of a well-respected mind in the title of his book.
