Item Details
Description
Pre-Columbian, Ecuador/Colombia, Carchi-Narino, Capuli Complex, ca. 850 to 1200 CE. A set of 2 hand-built pottery bowls bearing black and red motifs atop the tan-hued grounds. One bowl features an inversely corresponding stepped motif with a red target-form design applied on top. The basin of the second bowl features large red bands within the soft tan and gray linear panels, and the exterior exhibits linear and cruciform motifs. Size of each (both are relatively similar): 7.7" W x 3.5" H (19.6 cm x 8.9 cm)
