Malcolm visited Persia twice, in 1800-1 and 10 years later, both times in order to smooth trade negotiations and deal with other political matters. In this classic work he gives creditable first-hand accounts of the pomp and ceremony of the Shah's court. Ex-libris of Hon. George Agar Ellis, with his name stamped on the covers in gilt.
Condition
Light rubbing to calf, joints cracking or tender, 1" chip from top of volume 1 spine laid in loose; faint foxing mostly to blank leaves; very good.
