Description
Ancient Near East, Early Bronze Age II to III, ca. 2900 to 2650 BCE; Iron Age, ca. 1st millennium BCE. An attractive ensemble of 4 pottery vessels from the ancient Near East: 3 Iron Age jars and 1 Bronze Age baby feeder vessel. All 3 jars present wide hips, sloped shoulders, and flared spouts. Two feature tubular handles that connect spout to shoulder and sit upon planar bases, while the third has no handle, but instead a dramatically wide mouth, liberal remains of painted decoration, and an annular foot. Last, the baby feeder possesses a wide rim at its top, a squat yet bulbous body, a circular foot, and a slender spout. A ribbon-form handle is featured opposite the spout, attaching rim to hip. Size: 3.9" Diameter x 4.6" H (9.9 cm x 11.7 cm)
