Description
GORHAM "MEDALLION" STERLING / COIN SILVER FOUR-PIECE CREAMER AND SUGAR SET, pattern designed by George Wilkinson in 1864, comprising a creamer, an open sugar, a small sugar sifter, and a pair of sugar tongs, each piece featuring a Classical-style bust of a man or woman. Each impressed with the three Gorham pseudo hallmarks, three pieces marked "STERLING", open sugar with no fineness mark, creamer with "C" date mark for 1870. Total weight: 16.540 ozt. Gorham Mfg. Co., Providence, RI. Second half 19th century. Open sugar 4 7/8" HOA.
Condition
Very good overall condition with some wear and surface scratches, other imperfections including slight bending, one or a few small dents, nicks, and/or minor worn spots to raised decoration and gilt-washed finishes.
