By Brunswick Record Company, New York. To Jackie Wilson. Record 1004. 1,000,000. Marked on record. "This was given to Artist Only", Jackie Wilson Jr 1960. Born June 9, 1934. Died January 21, 1984. An american singer and performer of the 1950's and 1960's. Nicknamed "Mr. Excitement". He was considered a master showman. Originally sung for the Dominoes. Jackie Wilson went solo in 1957. He immediately topped the song charts of R&B soul. Wilson's #1 top selling songs, and gold record award selling over a million copies was "Lonely Teardrops", 1958. This Gold Record was awarded by Brunswick to Jackie Wilson for his second gold award presented to artist in 1960. Song title "Night". Mr. Excitement continued to perform until one evening in 1974 he collapsed on stage and went into a coma. He never woke from that and passed away in 1984. Framed measures 12 1/4" h x 12 1/4" w x 7/8" d. Record measures 7" diameter.
