Description
An antique Neoclassical style gilt patinated bronze statuette after Auguste Moreau, French, 1834 to 1917. The statuette depicts a cupid. Signed with etching on the base. Circa: 19th century. Mounted to the round shaped marble stand. Louis Auguste Moreau was a French sculptor best known for his bronze cast figurines. His allegorical Art Nouveau works often depicted women, children, cherubs, and historical figures adorned with floral motifs and ornaments, and were influential to other artists working at the time.
