Beautiful and fun sculpture of a young girl awkwardly carrying a wing-flapping duck. Truly a fine work of art by Auguste Moreau. We believe this cast to be After Moreau. Medium: Bronze. Provenance: From a spectacular, non-smoking, estate of late attorney near Atlanta. Expect to pay $3000 and up online right now. Louis Auguste Moreau (French, 1855–1919). Louis Auguste Moreau born, was a French sculptor best known for his bronze-cast figurines. His allegorical Art Nouveau works often depicted women, children, cherubs, and historical figures adorned with floral motifs and ornaments, and were influential to other artists working at the time. Born in Dijon, France in 1855 to a celebrated family of sculptors, including his father, Auguste Moreau, he went on to regularly exhibit his work at the Paris Salon from 1861 on. The artist died in 1919 in France.
