Description
This is a rare stock certificate from the Colorado Springs and Cripple Creek District Railway. It is certificate #464 and is in new, unused condition. This was for a sale of $1.2 million in common stock, at $100 per share. The CC&CSD was one of four railroads to run into Cripple Creek, which was once the capital of Colorado, and is know for its famous gold rush of the late 1800s and early 1900s. 40,000 people once lived there; now it is a town of less than 2,000 and has become a gambling mecca. All of the railroads are gone, but gold mining still takes place! Artifacts from any of the four railroads are extremely rare, as most were gone shortly after the gold rush.
