A gilt-brass Grand Sonnerie carriage clock A gilt-brass Grand Sonnerie carriage clock, late 19th to early 20th century, French, the repeating leaver movement with a visible anchor escapement striking on a gong, the white enamel dial bearing Roman numerals, retailed by the Goldsmiths Company, Regents Street, London, with a mechanism beneath for 'hours and quarters', ' silence' and ' quarters only', 10cm wide 9cm deep 16cm high in a leather travel case (2) Condition Report: Later gilded. Cracks to the dial, with rubbing and wear to the inscriptions. Tiny, knocks, dents and scratches to edges of case. Rubbing, scuffs, knocks and wear to leather case. Ticking, striking and repeating at the time of cataloguing, however we are unable to guarantee that this represents full working order. Winding key present. Bearing label beneath indicating restoration in 2014.
