Description
South Asia, India, ca. 19th century CE. A massive iron water pot, made from separate plates riveted tightly together. The generous globular body rests on a slightly indented and stable base; the neck tapers inward, with a thick, outturned rim that is etched with linear motifs. The iron is usually repurposed from the architectural or building materials and molded into a large container for water storage. Size: 13.5" Diameter x 13" H (34.3 cm x 33 cm)
