Shows a Roman era ancient Iberian peninsula now Spain and Portugal, Roman settlements, and pre Roman tribes and settlements as well as Carthaginian influences can be seen. The cartouche shows Hercules and Mars with Roman soldier in the background. Roma is seated above a platform her shield is inscribed SPQR. A cherub fly’s above about to place a wreath of victory on her. 1701-1706, ancient geography by Christoph Cellarius, professor of history at the university of Halle. Published in "Notitia Orbis Antiqui Sivi Geographia Plenior", Leipzig. Copperplate engraved, approximately 13 x 9". Authenticity Guaranteed.
