Description
Stamped on shoulder, two applied strap handles. Very important stamp as this is not the company stamp only D Zitell Waco KY which dates before he went into business with his son. 19"H x 14"H. Zittel was the last of the prominent potters in Waco (in Madison Co, KY) to produce salt-glazed stoneware at a production level. By 1880 he was joined in the business by his son, Valentine Baumstark Zittel (1864–1912). The son continued the business for a period after Dennis Zittel’s death. Minor mid body stress lines, very insigficant. Incredible condition pot.
