A MIXED-METAL INLAID GOLD LACQUER FIVE-CASE INRŌ
Edo period (1615-1868), 19th century
Of rounded rectangular profile with applied cord runners, decorated in gold and aokin with accents of gold kirigane against a gold nashiji ground with a man kneeling on the thatched roof of a rustic dwelling under flowering cherry trees while a young boy looks on from below, both in inlaid mixed metals; coral bead ojime; staghorn manjū netsuke decorated with a ho-o bird and peony in inlays of gold and silver with gold and black lacquer highlights, signed Yōyūsai
