Xuantong mark and of the period
Molded with a pair of large peach-form panels on the broad sides and a pair of rectangular lug handles on the short sides, covered in thick strawberry-red glaze with creamy lavender blue stripes, the glaze pulled thin at the mouth rim and the lug handles, the base with incised six character mark under a brown wash, the base of foot covered in black wash. Japanese box.

Vases of this form has been produced for the Qing court in various glaze colors. The present example, marked with the last emperor's reign, shows the continued patronage of such beautiful vessel from the Qianlong period through the end of the Qing.
