Sgt. Alvin C. York Thrice Signed Autograph Card w/ Original Transmittal Envelope
Signature, measuring 5.5" x 3.5", postmarked March 6, 1935, Wolf River, TN. Bifold sheet signed "Sgt Alvin C. York" in three separate places. Accompanied by original transmittal envelope addressed to Mrs. Harriette L. Kinney. York (1887-1964) was drafted during World War I and is considered one of the U.S. Army's most decorated soldiers, receiving a Medal of Honor during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive in France, where he and his men captured 132 German soldiers. In addition, he also earned a number of decorations from several allied countries including France, Italy, and Montenegro. Minor ink smudging and light paper toning throughout. Fine to near fine condition.
