Description
Estate collection of two (2) African Yoruba pottery cauldron medicine pot and or cooking vessels. Large cauldron form bodies with incised encircling designs rising to a wide rim opening, and surmounting curved primitive tripodal elephant tusk form legs. No apparent makers mark. Larger measures 14" x 9" x 9". From the Chicago estate of American gallerist and philanthropist Maria McCormick (1937-2021).
Condition: Fair overall condition having moderate age related surface wear, with patina, and each having prior restoration to one leg. Estate fresh to the market.
