Beautiful 1876 Centennial Silk Print from the Philadelphia International Exhibition. This is a “George Washington,” Centennial Souvenir Ribbon by A. Larcher, Paris. Listed in "Threads of History" as number 408, this colorful Patriotic Silk measures a very large 6" x 11". It was issued as a Souvenir of the Philadelphia International Exhibition of 1876, celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Besides a central portrait of George Washington, it shows the Main Exhibit Hall at the Fairgrounds, a Steamship, Locomotive, Steam Rotary Printing Press and Agricultural Products. Excelelnt colors throughout the ribbon. A very rare and wonderful piece. Excellent
