James Deakin & Sons, Sheffield, a late 19th century cane watch, tapering macassar ebony shaft with silver gilt repousse handle with putti, birds, flora, and C scrolls, bearing the makers mark, Chester hallmark and sate letter for the year 1898, and containing an unsigned verge fusee movement with roman numeral white enamel dial and gilt, engraved center, the perimeter of the brass dial plate engraved "Keep me clean and use me well and I to you the time will tell"
