Description
Southeast Asia, Thailand, ca. 19th to 20th century CE. A lovely cast bronze Buddha head exuding a wonderful sense of peace and tranquility, with downcast eyes, arched brows, a naturalistic nose, full lips, and stretched earlobes, symbolizing Buddha's all-hearing powers, benevolence, and wisdom. Atop the head is Buddha's distinctive curled coiffure composed of dozens of small nodules surmounted by a prominent, pointed "flaming" ushnisha. Verdant green patina envelops the surface, adding a vibrancy to its tranquil presentation. Size: 2.7" W x 6.7" H (6.9 cm x 17 cm); 8.3" H (21.1 cm) on included custom stand.

Condition
Fragment of a larger piece. Nick to tip of ushnisha and petite stable fissure to bottom of left cheek. Surface wear as shown with some light abrasions. Otherwise, very nice with rich patina.
