Description
Louis XVI style clock, late 19th century.
Gilt bronze, rhinestones and marble.
The marble is missing.
Key preserved.
Needs to be overhauled.
Measurements. 25 x 12 x 8,5 cm.
The piece is supported by four round bronze legs on which the square marble base sits. This gives way to the rectangular body, made of glass, in such a way that the clock mechanism can be seen. This glass body is decorated with bronze ornamentation, both in the corners, which serves to join and reinforce the sculpture, and in ornamental appliqués with plant motifs. The front of the clock case is dominated by a dial with a golden profile decorated with rhinestones on the outside, while the inside has a white base with Roman numerals in cobalt blue, gilded and openwork hands and a small border of flowers running around the inside perimeter of the dial. On the case of the watch is a large bronze garland, which ends in a large loop at the top, thus framing the sculptural finial of the piece, which consists of two doves.
