Description
A late 19th century Lenzkirch Digital Bracket clock, retailed by "G. Landmann & Co., Frankfurt a M (am Main)". The digital or "flip" clock was conceived by the Austrian inventor and engineer Josef Pallweber in 1890 and produced by the world-renowned Lenzkirch Clock Factory between 1893-1894. This clock features an 8-day time only movement with Silvered dial and Gilded Bronze Apollo mask decoration, serial # 1 Million 2895 (1893). Figured Walnut case with shingled "roof", cast Bronze finials and mounts, single door with arched beveled glass and Bronze Cherub columns on a molded base with winged figural feet. Older finish with good color and only minor wear, small loss to rear door panel, running when cataloged. 25" high. ESTIMATE $8,000-12,000
