Fine Tibetan Ceremonial Trident Trisula, C. 17th/18th C. Iron, silver and gilt, a skull at the base below a central ornate openwork flame-like prong, and two similar flanking prongs with dangling, tear-shaped, talismanic pendants; a tubular socket for a wooden shaft. On an ebonized wooden base. Size: 15.25'' x 13.75'' x 1.75'' (39 x 35 x 4 cm). Height on base: 17" (43 cm). Provenance: Sylvia and Philip Chaplain Collection, New Hampshire.
