FIRST EDITION OF THE FIRST AND MOST IMPORTANT LOCALLY PUBLISHED WORK ON THE BOTANY OF THE PHILIPPINES. Blanco (1779–1845), a Spanish friar and botanist, was posted by his order to Manila, and here describes 1081 plant species, classifying them according to the Linnaean system. He also provided information on their history, uses in medicine, construction, and industry.
