This lot is subject to the following lot symbols: *

Condition

Unexamined out of the frame.
The panel, which is made up of 3 horizontal planks, is bevelled on all 4 sides. The panel joins which are visible from the front are held on the reverse with small wooden battens. The panel is very slightly bowed. The paint surface is relatively clean. Discoloured restoration is visible to the naked eye along the panel joins, along the upper edge and scattered throughout the background. There is minor abrasion around the edge of the panel, possibly where the frame has rubbed.
Inspection under UV light is hindered by reflective varnish but it is still possible to see: the aforementioned restoration; further scattered small infillings to the background; and retouching to the figures and architecture. Further restoration cannot be excluded.
