56 x 47.8cm (22 1/16 x 18 13/16in).
Condition
The canvas has been relined and the varnish is a little dirty and scuffed. Discoloured restoration is visible to the naked eye in the figure's lower arm and to his cloak.
Inspection under ultra-violet light is difficult as the varnish is so thick and uneven but it is possible to see: the aforementioned restoration to the figure's arm; retouching to much of the foliage, upper left; restoration and strengthening to the details of the armour; and possible further restoration to the background. Further restoration cannot be excluded.
Unexamined out of the frame.
