WESTERN SENTINEL, comprising October 18, 1861 with much Civil War news and the announcement of Jefferson Davis and Alexander Stephens for President and Vice-President; the remainder post-war dated 1865 to 1867, with much reconstruction news including an Ordinance "Prohibiting Slavery in the State of North Carolina", a letter from Nathan Bedford Forrest, many interesting advertisements, &c. 1861-1867. 18" x 12 1/2" and 21" x 15".

Very good overall condition with some foxing/toning, 1861 example with narrow vertical loss to back page only very slightly affecting text.
