Description
1) Goldfield-Candelaria Cooperative Mining Co. Stock Certificate, 1915. Rare I/U to Forrest Blanding. #638 for 300 shares. Properties in Goldfield and Candelaria. Signed by vice McCarthy and secretary Patrick. 'Office in Goldfield.' Upper right corner bent; tear left center. Overall very nice. Patrick was the president of the Goldfield Consolidated Water Company and the chief engineer to bring water to Goldfield. 'Development work done includes two shafts 280 and 600 feet deep respectively. 10,000 tons of $6 ore has been blocked out. The 280 foot shaft will also be sunk to the 600 foot level.' [Mining Journal, 1915] 2) Tule Canon Gold. Very nice; very rare! We do not remember seeing this certificate before. # 17, issued at Goldfield, Nevada on August 15, 1905 to Otto. Signed by secretary J. Douglas and president A. J. Seligman. "Mines: Tule Canon, [Esmeralda County] Nevada" printed on the certificate. Seven small mining vignettes. All I could find on this company was in 1920. It consisted of six unpatented claims and tunnels were being developed. Douglas is most noted for rebuilding the Goldfield Hotel (called one to the marvels of the desert) after a fire in 1906. More notes included.Date: Country (if not USA): State: NevadaCity: EsmeraldaProvenance: Joe Elcano Nevada Mining Stock Collection
