February 14, 1864-Dated Civil War Period, Confederate, Telegram Military Orders from Mississippi Governor Clark to Brigadier General Ruggles, Choice Very Fine.
This 1864 Civil War Date Telegram is from Governor Clark to Brigadier General Ruggles measures about 4.25" x 7.75". Manuscript completed in easily readable rich brown ink being Handwritten on a "South-Western Telegraph Company" message form, tipped at corners to heavier slightly larger card stock. This important content Telegram reads, in full:
"Columbus Miss Feb 14th 1864 -- By Telegraph from - Macon Miss 14th 1864 - To Brig Gen Ruggles -- Capt Dupree with his Company is ordered to report indirectly to you. Arm him as well as you can. Gen Polk orders him to report to Forrest of Roddy. The state has ammunition with Col Baskervill He will report Monday or tuesday. He is ten miles east of this - 5owpd -- (Signed) Chas. Clark / Gov of Miss".
