Description:
Emperor-sized balance-form fountain pen, black urushi lacquer with abundant gold dust maki-e decoration said to resemble a Japanese nashi pear, with birds in flight depicted in raised and burnished togadashi maki-e, and with raden (mother-of-pearl) ornamentation, by master maki-e artisan Hyakusen Murata in the 1990s. Plunger-filler. 171mm. 14K gold Pilot #50 nib, size not indicated, appears fine. No packaging or papers. No limitation stated, but Namiki has stated that this pen had '"very limited production,'" and it's been claimed that the pen was made exclusively for Pilot-Namiki executives. Excellent condition, no flaws or blemishes, not inked. A rare and exceptional pen.
