Two Baker Lake/Qamani'tuaq Inuit sculptures
Comprising a Simon Tookoome (1934-2010) muskox with human face in its chest, signed in syllabics; and a Mathew Aqigaak/Aqigaaq (1940-2010) hunter in canoe, apparently unsigned, restored
the first: height 9in, depth 13in; the second: length 17 1/2in, height 4 1/2in

Condition
The first: Good condition overall with scattered scratches, scuffs, fleabites and inherent flaws commensurate with age and material. More nicks and shallow chips to the edges, including the hooves (one hoof with a diagonal 3/4in loss from one corner). Felt bumpers applied on the undersides of hooves.

The second: A restored diagonal break through the center of the canoe and the harpoon with a few small spots of fill to canoe body along the fissures. A filled chip to the tip of the canoe (about 1/4in wide). Hunter with an approximately 1/4in x 1/8in shallow divot to the top of one hand (may be original to the piece).
