Sculpture worked in a half-bulk, so that the devotional carving was intended for frontal contemplation. The saint represented could be Veronica. Stylistically, it is fully in keeping with the Baroque style, which can be seen above all in the natural, dynamic draping of the cloak which covers the head and falls in gentle curls to either side of the figure. The tunic is also carefully worked, seeking naturalism in the drapery, drawing vertical grooves from the belt to the feet. The quality of the carving is reflected in the variety of qualities given to the garments, which are decorated with brocade. The face, with its harmonious features, is framed by a veil that completely hides the hair.
