Ca. 1-200 AD A very fine terracotta oil lamp of Loeschcke VIII type, shoulder V. On the mirror the draped bust of Luna with a crescent moon on her head. The perimeter is decorated with an ovolo design. The looped handle to the rear. Workshop mark SVRIT on the bottom.Size: L:110mm / W:78mm ; 90gProvevance: Property of a London Art gallery; Ex Collection P.R., Southern Germany, around 1970 - mid-1990s, acquired a) from Galerie Arete, Zurich, 1977, b and e) from Galerie Günter Puhze, Freiburg.
